The Treatment of Periodontitis in 2023: Where are we now?

Keeping up with changes and new discoveries in periodontal treatment can be a difficult task. New information and technology are regularly emerging, causing all of us to question, am I providing the best treatment for my patient? Couple this with research that has concluded that the prevalence of periodontal disease may have been underestimated by as much as 50 percent, and the implications are clear - we need a better understanding of this disease and the options for treatment.

This seminar will provide case examples and an interactive discussion that will include:

  • Options for Treatment – Scaling and Root Planing, Traditional Osseous Surgery, Laser (LANAP), Guided Tissue Regeneration
  • The PerioLase vs Diode Lasers for Treatment of Periodontal Disease – what to use based on their working wavelengths
  • Laser Assisted New Attachment Procedure (LANAP)
  • When to Refer a Patient
  • Evaluating the Success of Treatment
  • Emerging Technology for the Periodontal Maintenance Appointment
